Job description
Fire+ is seeking Fire Alarm Service Inspection Technician to add to the team. The Technician performs all service and testing activities as assigned, and ensures that all service calls are completed according to the prescribed guidelines and processes. The Technician at times may need to assist with Installations. Additionally, the Technician is required to complete assigned paperwork and billing materials within the allocated time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection activities on electrical fire alarm systems.
- Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals.
- Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems
- Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective methods to return equipment to working order.
Requirements and Skills:
- Technicians must have experience as a Service Technician within the Fire Alarm industry
- Technicians must have ASTTBC Certification - Minimum 3 stamps (ALM, FX, EML)
- Knowledge of fire alarm panels/special hazard/releasing panels and systems is required
- Possess a valid Class 5 vehicle license (driver's abstract may be required)
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
- Knowledge of Notifier systems is an asset

- Basic computer skills are a requirement
- Interest in, or previous experience with, programming is an asset
