Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and foster a positive learning environment for students of various ages and needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with lead teachers to implement educational activities, assist with student supervision, and contribute to the overall development of children. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education and special education settings.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Support students during classroom activities, including tutoring in subjects such as math and reading.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other activities to ensure safety and positive behavior.
- Support classroom management strategies and reinforce behavioral expectations.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and staff to promote student success.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and setting up learning stations as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred.
- Background in tutoring or providing academic support in subjects like math or early childhood education is advantageous.
- Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Classroom experience demonstrating the ability to manage diverse student needs.
- Passion for teaching, patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in supporting children's development.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education or related fields are desirable but not required.
- Level 1, 2 or 3 ECE or equivalent
