The Foothills Day Hospital is an alternative to inpatient admission within Addiction and Mental Health acute care services. This four-week group-based program operates on a stabilization model and supports patients in enhancing coping skills. The overarching goal of Day Hospital is crisis stabilization and skills development and integration. As Day Hospital Intake, you will work manage the flow of clients into the program by triaging, screening and scheduling of assessments with psychiatry and case managers. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the successful applicant will be involved in a range of clinical activities related to planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions with patients including initial and ongoing patient assessment and intervention, group facilitation, and facilitation of discharge planning. Responsibilities also include timely documentation of clinical activities, clinical data entry and regular participation in clinical consultation, team education, and ongoing program evaluation. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in an Adult addiction and mental health setting within the past 3 years. Demonstrated experience in individual and group therapy (including CBT, DBT, psychoeducational). Excellent knowledge of DSM criteria for mental health disorders. Demonstrated ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team. Willingness to engage in clinical supervision related to group and individual therapy, in keeping with the supervision guidelines set out by AHS Addiction and Mental Health. Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred 3-5 years' experience in an Adult addiction and mental health setting within the past 5 years. Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills. Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation especially related to CTO’s. Community experience including case management an asset.
