Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a supportive team in a modern dental setting, emphasizing patient education and oral health. We are currently hiring for Thursdays from 3-7:30, Fridays from 8:30-1:30 and one Saturday per month from 8:30-2.
Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral disease
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Manage patient scheduling and follow-up appointments
- Ensure the sterilization of instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Support pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication
- Assist with orthodontic procedures when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns in a professional manner
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental office is preferred, especially with pediatric or orthodontic cases
- Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental practice management software is advantageous
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry is beneficial
- Bilingual skills are a plus, enabling better communication with diverse patient populations
- Experience in dental assisting or related roles enhances the ability to support clinical operations effectively
- Strong customer service skills are essential for creating a positive patient experience
