Job Summary & Duties:
We are looking for a Program Instructor for our Prince George Stroke Recovery Program.
*Must be located in or willing to commute to Prince George.
*Must be available to facilitate the program in-person on Tuesdays from 12:45pm - 3:15pm.

The Program Instructor plans and delivers weekly in-person community-based stroke recovery programming which:
- Is based on the specific goals and priorities of participants in the program
- Addresses the needs and gaps within the community
- Improves the quality of life of stroke survivors
- Has measurable outcomes for recovery and reintegration into community
- Is aligned with the Vision and Mission of Stroke Recovery BC.
Weekly program planning and delivery includes logistics (venue), scheduling speakers and paid service providers (e.g. exercise instructors), preparing and delivering activities and discussions, and delivering specialized programming such as Supported Conversation groups.
The weekly program (venue) may include:
- Activities to improve fitness and mobility
- Activities to improve communication
Activities to stimulate cognition and memory
- Presentations and/or discussions contributing to wellness and a healthy lifestyle
- Support and resources to facilitate community reintegration
This is a part-time contract position of 5 hours a week. Generally, 2 hours per week is allocated for the delivery of the Prince George program, and 3 hours administration and program preparation.
Community-Based: In-Person Program Lead
Start Date: June or July 2026
$26 per hour – Part time (5 hours per week)
2.0 hours will be spent facilitating the in-person Prince George Stroke Recovery meeting. The remaining 3.0 hours are flexible and can be worked remotely.

Stroke Recovery BC provides services, education, and advocacy to those affected by stroke throughout every stage of recovery.
Stroke Recovery BC delivers in-person and virtual programs, with an objective to help stroke survivors, and their caregivers, reach individual goals for recovery and reintegrate into their communities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Experience and a qualification in a healthcare related field, recreation, working with adults with a disability or seniors, and/or community-based program planning and delivery is required
- Specific experience facilitating programs or groups virtually
- Group facilitation / leadership experience
- Computer and administrative skills: MS Office suite
- Enjoy working with people and building relationships
- Flexibility, adaptability, problem-solving and initiative
- Knowledge of community resources
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Preferred:
- Case management experience
- Working with stroke survivors experience
- Information and referral experience
- Experience working with volunteers, especially as a supervisor
Successful applicants will be required to provide a clear police record check, including a vulnerable sector screen.
