Transportation Dispatcher – Full-Time (Day Shift)
Classic Towing & Storage is currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Transportation Dispatcher to join our Transportation Division.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, day shift, coordinating the movement of equipment, machinery, containers, and specialized transportation assets throughout Ontario.
Position Overview
The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and coordinating transportation requests, communicating with drivers and customers, monitoring job progress, and ensuring the efficient movement of equipment and freight while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch transportation assignments to drivers and operators.
- Schedule the movement of machinery, containers, construction equipment, and specialized loads.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
- Monitor job progress and proactively address delays or operational issues.
- Accurately enter and update dispatch information in company systems.
- Ensure transportation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Previous dispatching experience in transportation, logistics, towing, heavy haul, or related industries preferred.
- Strong knowledge of equipment, machinery, container transportation, and logistics operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with computers and dispatch software.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
