SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Kim Lambert Design is seeking a Senior Design Associate to play a key leadership role within the studio, overseeing the creative and technical execution of luxury residential projects from concept through completion.
This position is suited to an experienced designer with a refined aesthetic perspective, strong architectural and technical knowledge, and the confidence to lead projects with clarity, professionalism, and creative rigor. The ideal candidate is highly organized, visually sophisticated, and deeply attuned to detail, proportion, materiality, and atmosphere.
Working closely with the Principal & Creative Director, the Senior Design Associate will help shape and execute deeply considered, highly resolved interiors while contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the studio.

- Lead the development and execution of luxury residential projects across all phases, from concept development through installation and project completion.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal & Creative Director to translate the studio’s creative vision into cohesive, highly resolved interiors.
- Oversee project coordination, timelines, deliverables, and day-to-day workflow management across multiple active projects.
- Lead the preparation and review of detailed drawing packages including plans, elevations, millwork drawings, finish schedules, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Direct sourcing and specification of furnishings, lighting, textiles, materials, fixtures, and custom elements with a strong emphasis on originality, refinement, and cohesion.
- Lead and confidently present design concepts, presentations, and selections to clients.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, contractors, artisans, and trades throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Studio Operations and procurement team to ensure accurate FF&E documentation, coordination, and execution.
- Oversee site coordination, installations, and resolution of design and construction-related challenges with professionalism and efficiency.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior designers and intermediate associates within the studio.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of studio standards, systems, workflows, and creative processes.
- Ensure all work reflects the studio’s commitment to thoughtful design, technical precision, and exceptional execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience within high-end residential interior design.
- Degree or formal education in Interior Design or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex residential projects from concept through completion.
- Strong technical understanding of interior architecture, residential construction, detailing, millwork, and custom fabrication.
- Highly refined visual sensibility with a sophisticated understanding of proportion, scale, composition, and materiality.
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience mentoring or overseeing junior team members is considered a strong asset.
- Extensive knowledge of luxury furnishings, suppliers, artisans, custom workrooms, and fabrication processes.
- Calm, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach within a fast-paced studio environment.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional follow-through and accountability.
- Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Programma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Drive.
- Contract / freelance role
- Flexible hours with agreed weekly availability
- Remote / hybrid (located within the GTA)
- Attend team meetings at our Toronto Studio when required
- Attend site visits when required
