Labourer – Ground Restoration

Wage: $18.00/hour
NFTC is looking for reliable and hardworking summer students to join our team as Labourers – Ground Restoration for the current construction season.
This is an entry-level position and no prior experience is required. The chosen candidates will assist with cleanup and restoration work following fibre optic construction, including repairing lawns, spreading topsoil, seeding, raking, general site cleanup, and supporting construction crews as needed.
This is a great opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on outdoor work experience with a growing telecommunications company.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with ground restoration following fibre optic construction work
- Repair lawns and disturbed areas using topsoil, seed, and basic hand tools
- Rake, shovel, sweep, and complete general cleanup duties
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Support field crews with basic labour tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow direction from supervisors and crew leads
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Qualifications:
- No previous experience required
- Valid driver’s licence (asset)
- Reliable transportation considered an asset
- Ability to perform physical outdoor labour
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
