Summary
Stamping presses, robots, assembly lines, cooling systems etc. Mechanical and electrical repairs for various manufacturing equipment and programing (PLC). Implementation of continuous improvement activities to equipment including verification and effectiveness of the change.
1. Safety, Compliance & 5S
- Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and use required PPE.
- Raise potential hazards to others and protect equipment.
- Maintain excellent 5S conditions.
- Demonstrate understanding of Environmental Policy and EPRP.
- Identify and communicate environmental non‑conformances.
2. Electrical, Mechanical, and Automation Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including stamping presses, robotic systems, automated production lines, and cooling systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and mechanical components such as PLCs, VFDs, servo motors (including encoders), sensors, controllers, and circuit boards.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble robots and peripheral equipment.
- Perform maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand and power tools.
- Terminate wire harnesses and complete electrical installations in accordance with standards.
3. Robotic & Automation Support
- Install, program, repair, and modify programmable controllers and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Develop, correct, and verify robotic path motions to ensure safety, product quality, and equipment efficiency.
- Support automation improvements and equipment optimization initiatives.
4. Equipment Validation, Reliability, and Improvement
- Validate all repairs and preventive maintenance activities using the 5‑Piece Validation process.
- Participate in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
- Assist with 8‑Step problem‑solving activities and root cause analysis.
- Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
5. Documentation, Reporting, and Communication
- Maintain accurate repair and service documentation, including Daily Downtime Reports and Major Downtime Reports.
- Escalate equipment issues in accordance with the escalation process when downtime exceeds established thresholds.
- Attend daily start‑of‑shift and end‑of‑shift meetings to ensure effective shift handovers and communication.
6. Facilities, Inventory, and Contractor Support
- Maintain and repair building systems, including air compressor systems, water treatment systems, and lighting.
- Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts.
- Coordinate and work with external contractors to install new equipment or modify existing systems, as required.
Qualifications vs Skills Minimum Qualifications
- Industrial Electrician designation.
- 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
- Valid 309A or 442A electrical license.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to set priorities.
- Proactive approach to improving systems and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Skills
- Ability to safely work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
- Skilled in PLC and VFD installation, programming, and repair.
- Capable of reading and interpreting electrical/technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities (including 8-Step).
- Ability to maintain accurate reports and documentation.
- Effective at maintaining spare parts inventory and supporting PM programs.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors and support equipment changes.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and cohesively within a team.
