Foremost is seeking a Heavy-Duty Mechanic in our Stettler facility. Reporting to the Hydrovac Assembly Truck Foreman, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of truck pre-delivery inspections (PDI’s) and for identifying and correcting any problems found with equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems and repair or replace defective parts.
- Perform minor and major repairs of all mobile equipment and company vehicles.
- Conduct preventative maintenance including inspections of equipment to find defects before costly breakdowns occur.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other tasks related to his/her classification.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Heavy Duty Mechanic (in the province of Alberta) or journeyman preferred.
- Hydraulic system experience is an asset.
- Hand tool required
- Able to lift a maximum of 50lbs at times as required by the job.
- Valid class-5 driver’s license
- Basic computer skills are a definite plus, but not necessary.
- Work in a crouched position at times, crawl under equipment, climb ladders, and stand on concrete floors for long periods as needed to do various job tasks.
- Maintains a set of tools required to perform assembly functions.
- Safety Training an asset but will train as required.
- Ability to work independently, with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and safety.
