FSU Social Media Content Creator - Student Work Study job opportunities open to full-time Fanshawe College students who qualify for the Work Study Bursary program.
This opportunity is supported through The Work Study Employment Program, which is designed to provide work opportunities to Fanshawe College full-time post-secondary or post diploma students with a demonstrated financial need.

Successful candidates may be asked to apply to the Work Study Employment Program. The Work Study Employment Program will help Fanshawe Student Union financially to employ students over the summer, fall, and winter term.
Summer Contract - Temporary Part-Time (May 2026 - August 2026)

Summary
The FSU Social Media Content Creator plays a key role in promoting FSU initiatives, services, and events to the student body through engaging, student-centered video content. This role involves attending events, capturing short-form video content, collaborating with the Communications Team, and creating content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat.
Job Duties
- Record and submit short videos or boomerangs to promote FSU initiatives and events; content may be posted on FSU’s official accounts and/or the student’s own platforms
- Capture real-time content at FSU events and send video clips during or shortly after events
- Feature other Fanshawe students and/or yourself in videos to ensure authenticity and relatability (not solely animated or text-based content)
- Collaborate with the FSU Communications Team to ensure all information shared is accurate and on-brand
- Ensure professionalism and accuracy when posting about FSU on personal social media channels
- Work with other Social Media Ambassadors and cross-functional FSU teams to brainstorm creative campaigns and support communications goals
- Assist in determining appropriate responses to social media engagement, when requested
- Act as a liaison between the student community and the FSU Communications Team
Requirements
- Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program
- Comfortable speaking and appearing on camera
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with video creation for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Stories/Reels, and Snapchat
- Demonstrated experience or personal success using TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook
- Reliable and deadline-driven; able to follow direction and take initiative
- Attention to detail when publishing or submitting content
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, creative, and quick to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of video file formats and how to transfer or upload content
- Open to giving and receiving feedback
