The Team Leader will supervise a crew of technicians, ensure high‑quality service delivery, maintain safety standards, and uphold exceptional customer satisfaction. This role combines operational oversight with mechanical aptitude and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crew members on residential and commercial job sites
- Perform landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, pruning, and hardscape support
- Operate large equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and mini excavators
- Read and interpret job plans, site maps, and instructions from management
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
- Train new crew members and provide ongoing coaching
- Operate and maintain equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small machinery
- Communicate professionally with clients and represent the company positively
- Track materials, time, and project progress
- Report issues, delays, or equipment needs to management
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, procurement, and operational improvements
- Conduct equipment inspections and report any concerns
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues; perform minor repairs using appropriate tools
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
- Previous leadership or crew supervision experience
- Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, tools, and equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high‑quality workmanship
- Experience with grading is considered an asset
