Wilderness North is seeking an experienced Construction Crew Lead to help build and maintain the infrastructure that supports our aviation, tourism and development businesses across Northern Ontario.
Based in Armstrong, this is a year-round position that offers the opportunity to lead a small crew while working on a wide variety of meaningful projects. Rather than moving from one contract to the next, you’ll become part of our internal Build Team, creating and improving the facilities that support the long-term growth of the Wilderness North Group of Companies.
For the right individual, a lakeside company residence is available as part of the overall compensation package.
What You’ll Build
Every project helps strengthen and grow our business. Projects may include:
· New lodge cabins
· Fractional ownership cottages
· Staff housing
· Maintenance shops and hangars
· Docks, boardwalks and waterfront structures
· Solar energy installations
· Storage buildings
· Lodge renovations and upgrades
· General infrastructure improvements across our remote properties
What You’ll Do
· Lead a small construction crew.
· Plan and organize daily work activities.
· Read and work from construction drawings.
· Coordinate materials, equipment and deliveries.
· Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
· Mentor apprentices and junior carpenters.
· Work closely with our Engineering & Project Delivery Team.
· Help build a culture of quality workmanship, professionalism and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
· Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent practical experience.
· Experience leading construction crews.
· Strong residential or light commercial construction background.
· Ability to interpret construction drawings.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Valid driver’s licence.
Experience with remote construction, heavy timber framing, docks, equipment operation or solar installations would be considered an asset.
