At Noyaa, we do not simply serve dinner; we curate a culinary voyage where the aromatic spices of Asia weave seamlessly into the sun-drenched flavours of the Mediterranean. We are looking for an eloquent and polished Server who shares our obsession with high-end hospitality. In this role, you will be the narrator of our menu, bridging the gap between East and West for our guests. You will translate the history of the trade route into a modern, seamless dining experience, anticipating guest needs before they are spoken. The Culinary Journey
- Curate the Narrative: Expertly guide guests through our menu, articulating the complex fusion of Mediterranean heritage and Asian innovation. You must be able to tell the story of the ingredients—from the spices of the Levant to the techniques of the Far East.
- Sophisticated Pairing: Demonstrate a commanding knowledge of our wine and cocktail program, offering tailored recommendations that harmonize with the bold and varied flavour profiles of the Silk Road.
- Menu Proficiency: Maintain an encyclopedic knowledge of all menu items, including preparation methods, sourcing, and allergen information, to answer guest inquiries with confidence and accuracy.
The Service Standard
- Anticipatory Hospitality: Execute "unspoken service" by reading the table to anticipate guest needs—whether it is refilling water, replacing silverware, or folding napkins—before they are requested.
- Precision Execution: Adhere to strict fine-dining etiquette, including open-handed service, synchronized clearing, and proper crumbing, ensuring the mechanics of service never interrupt the guest’s experience.
- Atmosphere Stewardship: Maintain an immaculate station and dining room environment. You are responsible for the aesthetic of the table, ensuring that the visual presentation matches the high standards of our cuisine.
Team & Operations
- Seamless Communication: Act as the liaison between the kitchen and the guest, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated with absolute clarity.
- Ambassadorship: Represent our brand with poise and professionalism, maintaining grooming and behavioral standards that reflect the luxury nature of our establishment.
- Continuous Evolution: Participate actively in pre-shift briefings and tasting sessions, constantly refining your palate and service techniques to match the evolving nature of our fusion concept.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Professional Pedigree
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an upscale dining or full-service environment. A background in environments that require detailed menu knowledge and formal steps of service is mandatory.
- Beverage Acumen: A strong working knowledge of wine varietals, craft spirits, and classic cocktails. with the ambition to learn new bespoke cocktail concepts
- Technical Proficiency: Comfort using modern POS systems
Cultural & Culinary Literacy
- Global Palate: A genuine passion for, and familiarity with, the ingredients of the Silk Road—from the aromatics of the Middle East to the umami-rich profiles of East Asia. You must be eager to taste, learn, and describe these flavours vividly.
- Articulate Communication: Exceptional command of the English language with the ability to describe textures, flavours, and origins in a compelling way.
- Cultural "Ambassadorship": The ability to bridge cultural gaps for guests, explaining unfamiliar ingredients with approachability and expertise.
Personal Attributes
- Grace Under Pressure: The ability to maintain a calm, smiling, and professional demeanor during high-volume service. You must move with purpose and elegance, never rushing.
- Obsessive Detail: You are the type of person who notices a crooked fork or an empty water glass before anyone else.
- Emotional Intelligence: High EQ is required to read a table—knowing when to engage in conversation and when to provide silent, invisible service.
Logistics
- Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the needs of the restaurant.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry trays (up to 20 lbs)
- Certification: Ontario Smart Serve required
Compensation: $17.60 + gratuities
