Farm Help Wanted – Silver Meadows Dairy Farm
Silver Meadows Dairy Farm is looking for a dependable, self-motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team. We are seeking someone interested in working in the dairy industry and becoming part of a progressive dairy farm operation focused on high standards of animal care and day-to-day farm management.
This position is ideally full-time, although part-time opportunities may be available for the right candidate. Up to 50 hours of work per week may be available depending on experience, availability, and seasonal workload. This is a farm that runs 24/7/365 so weekend work will be a requirement. A schedule will be provided upon hiring.
About the Position
This role involves working directly with dairy cattle and supporting the daily operation of a busy dairy farm. Responsibilities may include:
- Feeding and caring for calves and youngstock
- Monitoring animal health and wellbeing
- Working with dairy cattle in a safe and calm manner
- Cleaning and maintaining barns and equipment
- Raking stalls and general barn cleaning
- Bedding and maintenance of animal housing areas
- Light tractor work and feeding
Milking is not currently required for this position, but there may be opportunities in the future for individuals interested in learning more about dairy herd management and milking operations.
Schedule
This is a split-shift position with 4-6hr shifts beginning at:
Applicants should be comfortable with early mornings, flexible farm schedules, and working in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience working on a farm or with livestock is an asset, but not required
- Must be independent, dependable, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working around large animals
- Ability to work physically and safely in a farm environment
- Class 5 driver’s license is an asset (Own transportation is required)
- Strong communication skills
Compensation
- Wage: $18–25/hour depending on experience and qualifications
