Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular patrols of the property (interior and exterior), including parking areas, entrances, and common spaces, to ensure safety and identify any security risks or hazards

Monitor and control access to the building by verifying IDs, managing visitor/vendor entry, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas

Observe site activity and monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect suspicious behavior or incidents

Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, and escalate to emergency services or management when required.

Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activities.

Provide customer service support by assisting tenants, employees, and visitors with directions, inquiries, and general site support.

Enforce property rules, safety procedures, and company policies to maintain order and a secure environment.

Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, first aid response, and coordination with first responders when required.

Conduct routine inspections of doors, locks, gates, and lighting to ensure the property is secure and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client.

Valid Ontario Security Guard License

Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (WSIB-approved provider)

Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean Driver's Abstract

Minimum 1 year of security experience required

1–2 years of dispatching experience or related experience considered an asset

Previous mall security or retail security experience considered an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment

High level of professionalism and attention to detail

Strong observational and report-writing skills

Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required
