Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Traveling Underground Diesel Mechanic to support mining and heavy equipment operations across Canada. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in remote environments and enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges underground. Experience with concrete equipment and hydraulic systems is a strong asset.
You will be based out of our Winnipeg head office and will travel regularly to mine sites to perform diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on underground diesel equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair underground diesel mining equipment including loaders, boom trucks, utility vehicles, and support equipment
- Perform field service work at remote mine sites, including emergency breakdown support
- Maintain and service hydraulic systems, engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and electrical components
- Support and maintain concrete-related equipment including mixers, pumps, and shotcrete units (asset)
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and recommend corrective actions
- Complete accurate service documentation and work orders
- Ensure all work complies with mine safety standards and company policies
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and operations teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or equivalent certification preferred but not needed.
- 3–5 years’ experience working on underground diesel mining equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with hydraulic systems (asset)
- Experience with concrete or shotcrete equipment (strong asset)
- Comfortable working in underground, remote, and physically demanding environments
- Ability to travel extensively and work rotational schedules
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Required)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
