Overview
GSS Engineering Consultants Ltd. is a local engineering firm providing civil and environmental engineering services to municipalities and private clients throughout Grey and Bruce Counties. Our services include water and wastewater design, urban infrastructure, stormwater management, grading and drainage plans and hydrogeological studies.
We are looking for an Junior, Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician to support our team. The ideal candidate has experience in construction inspection, field surveying, and AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and is eager to take on a variety of technical field and office tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction inspection and supervision of various projects. Includes field reporting, elevation and layout checks, written and verbal coordination with contractors, clients and senior staff.
- Assist with project administration including attending construction meetings, and preparation of contract documentation such as payment certificates, etc.
- Provide AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting to prepare drawings for a variety of engineering projects.
- Conduct and assist with field surveys using GPS, Total Station, and laser survey equipment.
- Assist with design calculations, preparation/writing of reports, stormwater management modeling, and assistance with preparation of construction tender documents.
- Support environmental sampling and engineering field investigations.
- Assist with preparing project proposals for new project opportunities, support project start up and leading engineering projects including serving as lead contact with clients.
Requirements
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a Canadian-accredited college and C.E.T. or C. Tech designation.
- 2-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with experience in site inspection, surveying, and drafting.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, laser level, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work outdoors on construction sites.
- Must be able to relocate to the Owen Sound area.

Pay: $25.00-$42.00 per hour
