Accountant (Manufacturing) – Full-Time
Location: 20 minutes north of Barrie, ON
Salary: $70,000 – $95,000 + Benefits + Pension + Vacation
A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and driven
Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated professional who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment and enjoys supporting full-cycle accounting in a plant-based setting.
This is an
individual contributor role with no direct reports, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify accuracy of accounts payable invoices and approve in accordance with internal policies
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit monthly HST remittances
- Maintain and update foreign exchange rates in the ERP system
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Approve daily cheque lists and sales invoice processing as delegated
- Review and approve shipping lists to support AR processing
- Prepare ad hoc and recurring financial reports
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring documentation readiness
- Support alignment with overall finance department goals and deadlines
Qualifications
- CPA designation (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a finance/accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting and financial processes
- Experience with ERP systems (LN or similar considered an asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
