Job Summary
The Health & Safety COORDINATOR plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs that comply with regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health, safety regulations, and training development, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead training sessions on first aid, CPR, OSHA standards, and other relevant topics to enhance employee awareness and skills.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to workers' compensation law.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety through effective communication and training programs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in health and safety management.
Skills
- MUST HAVE COR 2020 CERTIFICATION
- Strong knowledge of OHSA regulations, ESA standards, and workers' compensation laws.
- Proficient in first aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on occupational health.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting safety audits, incidents, and training sessions.
- Ability to conduct effective training & development programs for employees at all levels.
- Familiarity with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) principles.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
- Effective communication skills to engage employees in health and safety
