Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Prepare invoices, process payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial reports
- Assist with payroll, HST filings, and year-end accounting
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Work with management and outside accountants as required
- Identify and implement ways to improve accounting and administrative processes through technology
- Perform other accounting and office-related duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is required
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting practices
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is required
- Excellent computer and technology skills are essential
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, email, cloud-based programs, and other business systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An accounting designation or related education is considered an asset
