Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician – Documentation
Department: Corporate Quality, Canada
Reports to: Regional Quality Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Quality Assurance Technician – Documentation is responsible for coordinating quality-related resources, tasks, and processes to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports internal and external customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality documentation outputs.
The Technician upholds BakeMark's commitment to best practices, promoting continuous improvement as both a process and a cultural mindset. This position regularly reviews and supports enhancements to quality systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall product quality.
Additionally, the role ensures that all co-manufactured and purchased products meet Quality Assurance specifications through detailed documentation review, and supports special projects as assigned by the Regional Quality Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Administration
- Ensure adherence to established best practices across all documentation and customer complaint handling.
- Review and approve new product information to ensure compliance with Canadian regulations and BakeMark quality and food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate internal and external databases and documentation systems.
- Review, approve, and manage supplier documentation and records.
- Lead the customer complaint process for traded goods, following up with suppliers and BakeMark customers as needed.
Quality Control
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to quality processes impacting finished product specifications.
- Ensure all product labels comply with applicable government regulations.
- Provide required documentation to customers in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Diploma in Food Science or a related field from a recognized institution, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and documentation management systems.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- French language skills considered an asset.
