Cheer Day Care Centre (CDCC) is a non-profitchild care centre providing ELECT program in Scarborough. We are looking for a creative and energetic staff member who enjoys caring for children in an active team environment to take on the position of Registered Early Childhood Educator for our program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent recognized by the C.E.C.E.
· Must be a registered ECE and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
· Has one year or more experience in a licensed child care classroom program teaching young children.
· Has valid Standard First Aid and Infant/child CPR certification (level C).
· Has a cleared Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check dated within the last six months.
· Has up-to- date immunization and clear medical reports, including TB test results.
· Must be reliable and have a warm and supportive attitude.
· Must be respectful of different family lifestyles, backgrounds and value systems.
· Must be flexible in receiving assignments and adapting to changes in the program.
JOB SUMMARY:
· Responsible for the supervision of children and management of a classroom in accordance with the philosophy of the Centre and CCEYA.
· Plans and implements weekly appropriate ELECT program to enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in compliance with all Childcare Licensing Standard.
· Performs a variety of classroom teaching in compliance with “How does learning happen?” document and AQI requirements.
· Ensures the safety and well-being of the children in the Centre.
· Observes and assesses children’s development to meet their interests and needs.
· Ensures that routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic and consistent with good child development principles.
· Maintains a positive relationship with the children and their parents, with regular communications.
· Keeps abreast of current trends in ECE and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
· Works positively as a team member by participating in staff meetings and sharing information gained through attendance at workshops, or visits to other centres.
