Job Summary
Magic Paint and Body is seeking an experienced Automotive Painter and Prepper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive painting, prep work, and repair, with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will contribute to restoring vehicles paint to their optimal condition while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and priming to ensure smooth finishes
- Apply paint, clear coats, and other finishes using spray guns and hand tools with precision
- Perform minor body repairs and touch-ups as needed to ensure vehicle quality
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during prep and painting processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Conduct quality inspections of finished work to meet company standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and uphold high standards of workmanship
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive painter or prepper
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in automotive painting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or materials safely
- Experience with automotive repair processes and techniques
- Autobody experience is advantageous for understanding vehicle structures and systems
- Excellent attention to detail, safety consciousness, and ability to follow instructions accurately
