About the Role
We are hiring a Lean Manufacturing & Capital Projects Manager to own two connected mandates: driving continuous improvement on the plant floor, and managing capital projects from scope through commissioning. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable moving between a Gemba walk in the morning and a vendor negotiation on refrigeration equipment in the afternoon.
Key Responsibilities
Lean Manufacturing
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production lines (confectionery, syrups, RTD beverages, fillings, sauces, etc)
- Deploy lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, SMED, kaizen events) to reduce waste, downtime, and changeover time
- Build and track OEE, yield, and throughput metrics; identify and close the gaps
- Partner with production, quality, and maintenance teams to standardize work and sustain improvements
Capital Project Management
- Manage capital projects end-to-end: scoping, budgeting, vendor selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning
- Lead technical evaluations of equipment vendors and develop RFPs
- Coordinate facility and utilities engineering (refrigeration, electrical, structural) with contractors and engineering firms
- Ensure projects meet Ontario regulatory requirements (TSSA, CSA, CRN) and food safety standards
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholders from concept to startup
- Support integration of new equipment and lines with existing ERP
What You Bring
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, with direct experience in both lean/continuous improvement and capital project execution
- Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred; familiarity with SQF, CFIA, or similar food safety frameworks an asset
- Comfortable reading P&IDs, evaluating vendor quotes, and managing multi-trade contractor projects
- Strong project management fundamentals — budgeting, scheduling, risk tracking
- Ontario regulatory familiarity (TSSA, ESA, employment standards) is an asset
- Hands-on, plant-floor presence combined with the rigor to manage capital spend

Pay: $80,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
