Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dry Eye Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform advanced dry eye treatments for our patients while managing essential administrative tasks, such as patient check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, and payment processing when working independently. With training, you may also be expected to conduct diagnostic testing and provide patient education to ensure a comprehensive and supportive care experience.
Responsibilities:
- Advanced Dry Eye Treatment: Perform specialized dry eye treatments, including IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), RF (Radio Frequency), LLLT (Low-Level Light Therapy), ZEST, and other advanced therapeutic interventions.
- Diagnostic Testing: Conduct precise and efficient dry eye diagnostic tests, record results accurately, and generate reports for referring doctors.
- Patient Education & Communication: Educate patients on dry eye conditions, treatments, and address any questions or concerns in person and remotely.
- Patient Management: Manage patient check-ins, check-outs, and payments independently for a seamless patient experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed treatment records and communicate test results or updates as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and staff to ensure a coordinated, patient-centered approach.
- Workspace Management: Keep a clean, organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in dry eye care and ocular hygiene practices.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on Experience with Dry Eye Treatments & Diagnostics: Previous hands-on experience with IPL and RF is mandatory. Familiarity with LLLT, ZEST, Tear Lab, InflammaDry, or Meibography is an asset; training will be provided on-site for any techniques not yet mastered.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt to varying work environments and situations.
- Communication: Clear communication in both verbal and written English is a prerequisite. Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is highly preferred.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Capability to function independently when required, ensuring seamless patient care.
