We are currently seeking a motivated Journeyman Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is progressing through their apprenticeship and looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced tradespeople.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Journeyman Apprentice will assist with the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and conveyor systems. The successful candidate will develop their technical skills while supporting production activities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of conveyor systems and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Support troubleshooting and repair activities on mechanical equipment and systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with Journeypersons, supervisors, engineers, and production team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
- Participate in apprenticeship training and development activities.
- Complete work accurately and efficiently while meeting production schedules.
Qualifications
- Registered Apprentice in a recognized trade (Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Welder, Machinist, or related trade).
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial maintenance, or construction environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
