Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Locksmith Apprentice, to join our team.
We are Central Lock and Key Inc. and are one of the leading Locksmith and Security providers servicing Barrie, Orillia, Muskoka and surrounding areas since 2010.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various locking systems and security devices. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure the safety and security of clients’ properties. The Locksmith Apprentice will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace locks, safes, and security systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Troubleshoot lock issues and provide effective solutions promptly.
- Key cutting and duplication with precision and accuracy.
- Conduct security assessments and recommend appropriate locking solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining lock functions and security options clearly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards during service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Locksmith or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical locks, electronic access control systems, and safes.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, or schematics is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Valid locksmith license or certification as required by local regulations is desirable but not mandatory for all locations.
- Prior experience with key cutting machines and lock installation tools is advantageous.
- Must have a Valid G Drivers License with Clean Drivers Abstract.
- Must be at least 25 years of age and able to lift up to 60 lbs. while maintaining an active and dedicated work schedule Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and weekends as required.

Pay: $31,200.00-$36,400.00 per year
