Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and goods across designated routes. This role requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to ensure timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly valued to support various operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields is an asset; We will train.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to trucking and freight handling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple deliveries.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, operate heavy machinery, and perform manual tasks as required.
- Reliable work ethic with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.60 per hour
