WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Saskatoon . In this role, you’ll play a hands‑on part in monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites across Western Canada—helping protect communities, the environment, and critical infrastructure while building a strong foundation for your career in environmental services.
- Lead field activities supporting environmental monitoring, investigation, and remediation programs.
- Prepare and follow site‑specific health and safety plans to protect workers, clients, and the public.
- Collect, manage, and document soil, groundwater, and soil vapour samples with precision and care.
- Conduct fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, borehole drilling, test pit excavations, and remediation activities.
- Supervise subcontractors during drilling, surveying, utility locating, and excavation work.
- Oversee remedial contractors, including directing excavations, tracking waste, and reporting progress.
- Coordinate field logistics, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure successful project execution.
- Travel across Western Canada for multi‑day field programs in diverse and dynamic environments.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in environmental technology, environmental sciences, or engineering.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices with a strong safety‑first mindset.
- Experience or exposure to soil and groundwater monitoring, remediation, and environmental field programs.
- Ability to maintain clear, accurate field notes and contribute to technical reporting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field settings.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for extended field assignments.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector or with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments is an asset.
