This role is based in Montreal, QC, with a hybrid work model and some domestic and occasional international travel for client and reinsurer meetings.
What the day will look like
It’s an exciting time to be at Aon! We are seeking an experienced treaty reinsurance professional to join our team as a senior member of the Montreal broking team. In this role, you’ll drive growth, shape client strategy, and bring valuable technical and financial solutions to insurance company clients and colleagues across Aon’s global network.

Lead and contribute to the development of sales and marketing strategies to cultivate profitable, long-term client relationships and revenue-generating opportunities

Own and grow a portfolio of insurer, reciprocal, and captive clients, including prospecting, pipeline management, and renewal strategy

Drive opportunities that result in new treaty revenue, leveraging Aon’s analytics, capital advisory and specialty capabilities

Lead the preparation of reinsurance market submissions, respond to reinsurer queries, evaluate quotations, and recommend optimal structures, pricing and terms to clients

Develop and deliver clear, compelling client presentations and support the negotiation of treaty contracts through to final documentation

Build strong relationships with reinsurers in the Canadian and international markets, staying close to capacity, appetite and emerging product developments

Champion the Aon United agenda by connecting clients to the broader capabilities of Aon’s Reinsurance and Commercial Risk businesses

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Proven ability leading complex client engagements, synthesizing technical analyses and presenting clear recommendations to senior partners (e.g., CUOs, CFOs, CROs)

4–8 years of progressive experience in insurance, reinsurance, or related financial services, including substantive exposure to treaty reinsurance, reinsurance underwriting, actuarial analysis or risk/capital management

Proven ability leading complex client engagements, synthesizing technical analyses and presenting clear recommendations to senior partners (e.g., CUOs, CFOs, CROs)

Strong proficiency in the MS Office suite and comfort working with data, models and analytics tools to support decision making

French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally

Effective organization and time management skills; able to prioritize multiple deals and workstreams in a fast‑paced environment

Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter while collaborating effectively in cross-functional and cross-border teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound business decisions under time pressure

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capability to build trust and maintain strong relationships

Professional designations such as CIP, FCIP, ACAS/FCAS, ASA/FSA, or equivalent will be considered strong assets
