Strategic Souring Specialist
The Cahill Group is currently seeking a results-driven and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team at our corporate office in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our dynamic Supply Chain team, contributing to the success of major construction projects across the country.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, improve supplier performance, and drive value across the organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to identify sourcing opportunities, lead competitive procurement processes, and negotiate contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier relationship management. This will be a full-time position, working Monday through Friday.
What will you do?
- Develop and implement category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis, market research, and supplier benchmarking.

Manage end-to-end sourcing processes including RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.

Manage key supplier relationships and support stakeholders in supplier performance, sourcing practices, and supply-chain risk mitigation.

Collaborate with project and functional stakeholders to define requirements, develop sourcing and procurement plans, establish delivery priorities, and resolve procurement issues.
- Analyze spend, market trends, pricing, supplier performance, and procurement KPIs to identify savings opportunities, support decisions, and drive process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical standards.
- Provide backup Buyer coverage, including quotation, commercial evaluation, purchase-order creation, expediting, and issue resolution.
What will you bring?
- 5+ years of relevant experience within the construction or related industry, or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred, with a focus in Business or Supply Chain being considered an asset
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification is an asset.
- Proven success in negotiating long-term agreements for construction commodities or similar materials.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders in an ERP system is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
