Your Opportunity:
As the acute care Respiratory Therapist I at Alberta Children's Hospital, you will be challenged in your ability to balance varying patient acuity levels and priorities in the dynamic environments that Respiratory Therapy provides service to including PICU, NICU, Inpatient Units and the Emergency Department. The RRT I is a pivotal member of the health care team, and you will have the opportunity to utilize your excellent clinical, communication and teamwork skills to support optimal outcomes for your patient population. Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current BCLS-HCP Certification, including expiration date. Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Minimum of 6 months experience in tertiary care facility within the last 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pediatric populations in a professional or volunteer capacity. Formal preceptor training. Current PALS certification including expiration date. Current NRP certification including expiration date. Charge/Team Lead experience. Outreach/Rapid Response Team Experience. Pediatric and/or Neonatal Inter-facility transport training and experience.
