When a lift is down, the customer needs it running ASAP. That first call to our parts department determines whether they come back. Not just for parts, but for equipment, service, everything. This role is the front door to the entire Zuma business.
THE ROLE
You’re handling inbound parts calls and emails from contractors and fleet operators across Canada and the US. You’re quoting, closing, and following up. You’re also working our database of past customers who’ve gone quiet, and you’re the one who brings them back.
This is a phone-first sales role. Field crews, fleet managers, shop foremen, small business owners. Your job is to solve their problem, build the order, and close it.
~80% Warm Inbound: Customers call because they already need something. Your job is to close it and upsell what they’ll need next.
~20% Account Reactivation: Warm conversations with people who’ve already done business with Zuma.
THE PERSON
Every call ends with a clear next steps. A quote sent, an order placed, a follow-up booked. You don’t let calls drift into quote limbo. You ask for the order.
When you hear “the machine is down,” you move faster. You know that customer will remember how this call went.
You think in solutions, not just line items. “While you’ve got that apart, you’ll want to do the seals too.” That’s not a pitch, that’s a solution.
You remember customers. A return customer went quiet 1 month ago? You want to know why. You want to make that call.
You log everything. Notes, next steps, outcomes, in the CRM, every time. Because you hate losing track of a deal.
DAY TO DAY
Answer inbound calls and emails. Quote fast, close confidently, set scheduled followup.
Identify what else the customer needs while you have them on the phone. Upsell by thinking ahead, not pushing product.
Work the lapsed account list. Call past customers, find out what changed, give them a reason to come back. You’re their account rep, make sure they know it.
Convert parts customers into equipment buyers. “I noticed you have several lifts, could we quote your next purchase?”
Protect margin. Don’t discount to avoid discomfort. Don’t give away freight.
Keep your pipeline clean. Log everything in the CRM. If it isn’t in there, it didn’t happen.

Automotive, HVAC, hydraulics, electrical supply: If you’ve hit quota in technical inside sales, the skills transfer.
