Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Tandoor Chef to join our vibrant restaurant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, particularly in preparing and cooking dishes using traditional tandoor methods. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary skills, lead kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering authentic Indian flavors to our guests. Candidates with supervisory experience and a solid understanding of food safety standards are highly preferred. The position involves managing food preparation, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian tandoor dishes, including naan, kebabs, and other specialties with precision and consistency
- Supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
- Lead team members effectively, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality service
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner to meet customer expectations
- Maintain food safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations
- Assist in training new staff members on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant policies
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Tandoor Chef or similar role within the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, especially tandoor cooking techniques
- Supervising experience or leadership skills in a kitchen environment
- Excellent food preparation and cooking skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
- Previous restaurant management or hospitality experience is advantageous
- A passion for delivering high-quality culinary experiences and serving guests with professionalism
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
