Cap it Kamloops is your one‑stop shop for truck caps, off‑road performance gear, camping/overlanding equipment, and truck accessories. We carry an assortment of truck caps and tonneau covers, plus a full lineup of suspension, tires, wheels, lift kits, bumpers, lighting, rooftop tents, portable fridges, fridges, heaters, running boards, roof racks, automatic boat loaders, 5th wheel hitches, goosenecks hitches tow products and almost anything else you can think of upfitting a vehicle with.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally install truck caps/canopies and tonneau covers (fiberglass, stainless steel, aluminum, one piece and modular).
- Install off‑road and performance components: suspension upgrades, lift kits, tires, wheels, bull bars, grill guards and full bumpers and winches.
- Fit and wire lighting systems (LED light bars, auxiliary lights, harnesses).
- Install overlanding and camping gear: rooftop tents, fridges, heaters, cooking equipment, roof racks.
- Fit truck accessories: running boards, step bars, bike/ski racks, cargo carriers, tool boxes, bed liners/mats, mudflaps, headache racks, whips, beacons and more.
- Install towing & protection gear: trailer hitches, 5th wheel hitches, gooseneck hitches, bug/rock guards.
- Perform precise measurements, template work, drilling, trimming and body‑safe fitment for caps & accessories.
- Diagnose fitment issues and recommend solutions or repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow shop safety procedures.
- Communicate with customers and service advisors regarding fitment options, timelines and any concerns.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Certification required. Note: this role focuses on accessory and cap installations rather than complex vehicle repairs, so tasks are generally less mechanically intensive than typical shop technician work while still benefiting from Red Seal skills and standards.
- Proven experience installing truck caps/canopies and/or related accessories.
- Strong mechanical skills: suspension work, basic wiring, light fabrication and drilling.
- Experience working with fiberglass and aluminum materials.
- Ability to read templates and perform accurate measurements.
- Valid driver’s license; vehicle for commuting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and good customer‑service skills.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy components safely.
Assets (not required but beneficial)
- Experience with truck accessories
- Welding or fabrication skills.
- Experience with 12V electrical systems.
- Forklift experience.
