About Us
WATB Construction Inc. is a concrete formwork and excavation company working on commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal projects across Ontario.
We are looking for an experienced Construction Layout Technician / Layout Person who can perform site layout for footings, foundation walls, concrete walls, anchor bolts, gridlines, elevations, and formwork locations using a Trimble total station.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate layout for footings, walls, columns, slabs, gridlines, openings, anchor bolts, and elevations.
- Use a Trimble total station for construction layout on active job sites.
- Read and understand structural drawings, architectural drawings, survey drawings, and site plans.
- Work closely with foremen, formwork crews, project managers, and site supervisors.
- Check dimensions, offsets, elevations, and control points before layout.
- Help identify drawing conflicts or layout issues before work begins.
- Maintain accuracy and communicate clearly with the site team.
- Support concrete formwork crews with practical layout knowledge.
Requirements
- Experience with a Trimble total station is required.
- Strong understanding of concrete formwork layout.
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
- Experience laying out footings, foundation walls, concrete walls, columns, and anchor bolts.
- Must be comfortable working on construction sites.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Experience
- Formwork/carpentry background
- Experience on commercial, industrial, institutional, or municipal projects.
- Experience with Trimble Access or similar layout software.
- Ability to assist with site measurements and as-built checks.
