Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC Helper to support our experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC industry while developing essential mechanical and construction skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and basic knowledge of related trades such as plumbing, welding, or appliance repair. This role is vital for ensuring efficient system operations and customer satisfaction across various projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings
- Support with the assembly and disassembly of HVAC units using schematics and technical drawings
- Help with plumbing connections, ductwork, and ventilation components as needed
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment safely under supervision
- Perform general construction tasks including lifting, carrying materials, and setting up work sites
- Support with boiler servicing and mechanical repairs when required
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety compliance
- Learn to read schematics and technical manuals to better understand system layouts
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in HVAC, plumbing, welding, boiler operation, or appliance repair is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Prior experience in construction or as a mechanic is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work safely in a team environment
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
- Prior experience working with schematics or technical drawings is advantageous but not mandatory
Pay: $22.51-$40.00 per hour
