We are currently hiring a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for one of our clients a leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of loading dock systems and material handling equipment.
Our client is located at Derry and Kennedy area of Mississauga.
Day Shift Monday through Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM
Pay Rate: $21.50 per hour
Material Handler/Forklift Operator
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Retrieve product from the paint line offloading area and move it to the next stage (either Assembly or Shipping, depending on product part ID)
· Retrieve finished/ semi-finished docks from final assembly lines and move them into QC and/or Shipping Storage upon QC approval.
· Feed the Paint Line or Assembly (Ex.: Restraint adequate skids and/or packaging materials according to the production schedule
· Empty the waste bins when needed, disposing of waste according to company policy
· Keep work area neat and organized ()
· Put smaller parts away/restock assembly line bins
· Retrieve product from the paint line offloading area feeding them to the lines and return the empty carts back to the paint line
· Communicate and support Team Leaders/Managers to achieve daily requirements within the respectful work area department
· Participate in all aspects of continuous improvement
· Practice 6S
· Keep work area neat and organized
· Work efficiently and effectively on diversified tasks as specified below:
· Maintain the storage racking area (by the welding curtain) stocked and organized
·backup the Welding department Material Handler as required
· Assist with the installation of side skins on bolt-on design Pour-In-Pans
· Minimum Grade 12 education
· Forklift Certification required – Counterbalance
· Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience
· Experience with handling oversized equipment a plus
· Experience working in Manufacturing environments (Hot and Loud)
