The successful candidate will inspire students to become confident readers, effective writers, and thoughtful communicators while delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum. Teaching will emphasize literacy development, critical thinking, inquiry, creativity, and communication through a diverse range of literary and informational texts, preparing students for success in secondary school and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons for Grades 5–8 aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
- Foster students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, media literacy, and critical thinking skills through meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to develop literacy, communication, analytical thinking, and creativity.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with varied learning profiles.
- Assess, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on student learning using a variety of assessment methods.
- Integrate technology and authentic learning experiences to enhance literacy and communication skills.
- Encourage inquiry, collaboration, discussion, and independent thinking through literature, research, and writing activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and IB MYP inquiry-based approaches.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and academic growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievement.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities, including those related to IB methodology.
Requirements:
- Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Islamic values.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification, or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario English curriculum for middle school.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level.
- Ability to engage students through inquiry-based learning, literature, discussion, and writing.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with special education needs.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital literacy tools is an asset.
- Experience with the IB MYP Language and Literature framework is considered an advantage.
