We’re looking for an in-office Accounting Manager in a growing organization
Our client is a dynamic, entrepreneurial business based in
Surrey, BC that is experiencing significant growth and investing in its people, processes, and future. This is a
newly established role, created to support the organization's continued expansion, including building out a team. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, with many opportunities to introduce structure, improve processes, and build best practices.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the Canadian business across accounting, payroll, and compliance. The accounting manager will be serving as a trusted advisor for all accounting practices while supporting organizational growth. The ideal candidate will thrive in an organization that is still developing its accounting practices and be comfortable navigating processes that are not yet fully refined.
Finance & Administration Accountant responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting including AP, AR, invoicing, reconciliations, and general ledger
- Support month-end close, accruals, and preparation of financial reporting
- Coordinate payroll processing, CRA remittances, and year-end reporting
- Assist with local compliance including CRA, GST, and WorkSafeBC requirements
- Liaise with external providers (banks, auditors, payroll, legal) and internal stakeholders
- Support ERP transition and integration and ongoing process improvement
- Manage accounting between multiple subsidiaries in the company
The successful candidate has:
- 5–8 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field (CPA or in progress is an asset)
- Experience with Canadian payroll, CRA remittances, and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial reporting
- Experience in a small or growing business environment
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple functions
- Experience in the hospitality environment
Compensation and benefits:
- The discussed salary range is $120,000 – $130,000 depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
- Strong growth opportunity with exposure to international operations and ERP implementation
