Cahill Fabrication Structural, a division of The Cahill Group, is currently recruiting Painters to join our team at our fabrication facility in Torbay, NL.
As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to major Canadian defense shipbuilding projects, fabricating structural steel components that support one of the country's largest and most significant marine construction programs, while also working on a diverse range of fabrication projects across the offshore, mining, industrial, and commercial sectors. Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Prepare steel surfaces through abrasive blasting, grinding, sanding, and solvent cleaning.

Apply epoxy primers and intermediate coatings using airless spray, conventional spray, brush, and roller methods.

Mix and apply coatings in compliance with manufacturer technical data sheets (TDS).

Monitor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and dew point.

Measure and record wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT).

Identify coating defects and perform corrective actions as required.

Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
-
Experience as an Industrial Painter, preferably on structural steel.

Hands-on experience applying epoxy coating systems.

Knowledge of industrial coating standards (AMPP/SSPC/NACE/ISO an asset).

Ability to read coating specifications and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Experience in fabrication shop environments is considered an asset.
