Fawkes Academy is seeking reliable and motivated candidates to join our multidisciplinary teams in our Vancouver Independent school classrooms. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBT), Behaviour Interventionists (BIs) or Education Assistants (EAs) with a desire to acquire effective instructional skills in preparation for career opportunities working in Inclusive Education in a variety of settings.
Successful candidates will become an active member of our team providing educational and behavioural support applying behavioural analysis with children with autism spectrum disorders. You will be provided ongoing training and support while having the opportunity to transition into positions requiring leadership and decision-making skills over time (if and when those roles are available). You will be supported by Classroom Teachers, teaching BC Curriculum and professionals who are Board Certified Behaviour Analysts with skills and experience in providing intervention support.
We are looking for ten positions to be filled - The positions are 5 days per week.
All positions begin September 1st, with four days of training. These are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 2:00pm positions, no flexibility.
1) Primary (K to Gr. 3) 1 to 1 support classroom: FIVE positions 8:30am to 2pm Monday to Friday: Note 1st interview is via zoom, 2nd interviews will take place at our RICHMOND location.
2)Intermediate/Secondary (Gr. 4 to Gr. 12) 1 to 1 support classroom: FIVE positions 8:30am to 2pm Monday to Friday: Note 1st interview is via zoom, 2nd interviews will take place at our BURNABY location.
Compensation is determined based on experience but falls within the $23 to $26 pay range. There may be a $20.00 to $21.00 - 90 day probation period training rate to start dependent on your experience.
Seasonal Employment: Hours are not guaranteed for the summer (July and August). We have two weeks closure during Winter Break and two weeks of closure during Spring Break.

We are an independent school that specializes in children with autism spectrum disorders. We have a diverse range of students on the spectrum who are working on individualized programs that may include life skills, academic readiness, full academics, or a combination of skills across these types of programs. You will also be supported by our School Counsellor, and Speech and Language Pathologist.
