We are seeking a reliable and professional part-time casual Delivery Driver (DZ) to join our food distribution team. This is a casual/on-call position with no consistent schedule. Hours and shifts will be assigned based on operational demands and may include weekdays, weekends, and varying start/end times as required. The role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and commercial driving, along with strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
Work Schedule:
- Casual / On-call position
- No guaranteed hours or consistent schedule
- Shifts may include early mornings, weekdays, and weekends based on operational needs
- Hours will vary according to business demand
Duties include:
- Transporting product from the distribution centre to customer establishments in a safe, timely, and reliable manner
- Ensuring timely communication regarding routing delays or vehicle issues
- Unloading product from the truck by hand or using a cart or pallet jack and placing it in designated customer storage areas while meeting temperature requirements (may include transporting product down stairs, ramps, or docks in various weather conditions)
- Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, correct, and the customer is satisfied
- Operating assigned tablet (e-log), power jacks, carts, or hand jacks
- Following a specified load manifest and schedule while identifying the most efficient routes to avoid delays
- Conducting regular vehicle inspections, including pre- and post-trip reviews
- Inspecting loads to ensure integrity and security of the product during transportation
- Maintaining records as per Ministry requirements
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness
- Adhering to company cleanliness and hygiene policies
- Ensuring the safekeeping of company equipment and product
- Adhering to highway traffic laws as well as company policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- High physical demands
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and climbing
- Driving for extended periods
- Ability to work in a mixture of indoor and outdoor environments in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Strong English communication skills (ability to read and write); French considered an asset

Education and Experience Requirements:
- DZ Driver’s License (minimum) or higher
- Acceptable driver’s abstract and criminal record check required
- High School Diploma or relevant work experience
