Job Summary
Develop Smart Electrical Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and leadership-driven Electrical Crew Foreman (309A Licensed) with extensive experience in power distribution systems and high-rise residential construction. We are currently building and converting multi-storey residential buildings (approx. 200+ apartment units and commercial spaces).
To qualify, the applicant must own a 309A Electrician license from the ESA.
As Foreman, you will lead our electrical crews, oversee complex electrical installations with a strong skill in power distribution is a must, ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), and coordinate with consultants, project managers, and other trades from rough-in through final inspection. This is a long-term leadership opportunity with a growing company and a strong project pipeline.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Site Management:
- Lead and Mentor: Supervise, schedule, and provide clear direction to electrical crews, journeypersons, and apprentices.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate electrical work phases for high-rise residential projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Trade Collaboration: Act as the primary on-site electrical contact, coordinating seamlessly with consultants, inspectors, and other construction trades.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce site safety standards and ensure all work complies strictly with the OESC.
- Inspections: Support and manage ESA inspections and oversee the project close-out processes.
Technical & Distribution Focus:
- Power Distribution: Oversee, plan, and execute complex power distribution systems (including main switchboards, transformers, heavy feeders, and unit sub-panels).
- Blueprint Analysis: Accurately read, interpret, and execute from complex electrical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Systems Installation: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of:
- Heavy power distribution networks
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Life safety systems
- Generator and backup power systems
Requirements
- Licensing: Must hold a 309A Electrician’s license and valid ESA number.
- Leadership Experience: Proven Foreman or Supervisory experience managing electrical crews on large-scale construction sites.
- Distribution Expertise: Strong, demonstrable 5 years+ experience installing and managing complex power distribution systems.
- High-Rise Experience: Solid background in high-rise residential or commercial construction.
- Code Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
- Logistics: Must own your own hand tools and hold a valid driver’s license.
Assets (Bonus)
- Specialized experience with generator installations and transfer switches.
- Experience with complex fire alarm systems.
- Experience with low-voltage or access control systems.
