Eugene Allard, a division of Imperial Dade Canada, a leading national distributor, is seeking a Director, Purchasing, to lead and optimize our purchasing and inventory strategy across multiple distribution centers. This role is responsible for driving inventory performance, vendor partnerships, and supply chain efficiency, with a focus on balancing inventory investment and service level excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory planning and replenishment across multiple warehouses and vendor portfolios.
- Establish and drive strategies to optimize inventory turns, service levels, and working capital.
- Minimize excess and obsolete inventory through proactive planning and lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and drive improvements related to service, lead times, and cost.
- Resolve escalated purchasing, supply, and invoicing issues.
- Oversee demand forecasting, lead time management, and replenishment parameters.
- Ensure accurate and data-driven purchasing decisions across the network.
- Lead service level analysis and alignment with business requirements.
- Oversee purchase order management, including stock orders and customer-dedicated inventory.
- Ensure timely execution of purchase orders, expediting where required.
- Manage resolution of PO and invoice discrepancies.
- Leverage procurement data and analytics tools to assess inventory performance.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on inventory health, vendor performance, and opportunities.
- Identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing and inventory team.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Participate in and lead strategic supply chain projects and initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and French.
- 7-10+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management, preferably in a high-volume, multi-location distribution environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced data interpretation capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data/reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
