The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong design background to join our team in a full-time, in-house role. You’ll be responsible for designing elevating equipment including freight elevators, scissor tables, and custom lifting solutions, and supporting the product from concept to manufacturing.
This role requires someone comfortable working independently and collaboratively, who can take ownership of engineering responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to product development.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer freight elevators, material lifts, passenger elevators, scissor tables, and custom elevating equipment
- Produce detailed production drawings and cut lists using AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Proactively collaborate with clients to secure drawing approvals and ensure all revisions are properly incorporated
- Respond to technical questions from architects, consultants, clients, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g. CSA B44, ASME A17.1)
- Work closely with the shop and project teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with customer requirements
- Keep organized records of drawings, revisions, and approvals
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks for mechanical drafting and production drawing
- Experience in elevating equipment, industrial machinery, or structural fabrication (asset)
- Familiarity with elevator code requirements (CSA B44 / ASME A17.1) is an advantage
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a small team
- Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
