Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Feller Buncher Operator to join our forestry and land management team. This role involves operating heavy machinery to efficiently and safely harvest timber while maintaining environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to safety and quality work. Duties
- Operate Feller Buncher machinery to cut, gather, and process trees in designated forest areas
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and landscape maintenance equipment as needed for site preparation and cleanup
- Follow safety protocols and environmental guidelines during all operations
- Use GIS technology for mapping, planning, and logging data collection
- Conduct routine checks on equipment condition and report any issues for repair or maintenance
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating Feller Bunchers
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on machinery
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance tasks
- Knowledge of GIS applications for mapping and planning purposes is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and forestry work
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
