Westmount has long been regarded as one of the best private clubs in Canada. The club is based around one of the best golf courses in Canada, ranked 11th in the country by SCORE Golf. The club has award-winning golf, wonderful practice facilities, a history of holding the country’s top tournaments, great tennis in the warm months, curling in the winter, and tremendous dining year-round.
We are currently seeking a passionate and highly motivated Dining Room Host to join our team. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Dining Room Host will serve as the primary contact for members and guests entering our dining room facilities, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. This seasonal opportunity is anticipated to continue through October 2026, with the end date subject to change based on business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome members and guests warmly to deliver a consistently exceptional first impression and member experience.
- Manage dining reservations and seating rotation using Jonas software to ensure smooth shift execution and support the service team.
- Act as a primary point of contact at the front door, recognizing members by name and anticipating their seating preferences.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the host stand and entrance areas to Westmount standards.
- Answer phone inquiries, input Jonas reservations, and professionally communicate special member requests to the service and culinary teams.
- Ensure accurate updates within the reservation system and support front-of-house administration as required.
- Collaborate with the service and clubhouse teams to support member events, tournaments, and club functions.
- Assist with clearing, resetting, and preparing tables to support smooth dining room operations.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar customer-facing role, preferably in a hospitality or private club setting.
- Strong communication and phone etiquette skills.
- Experience utilizing reservation systems; Jonas Software experience is highly valued.
- Problem-solving skills and a composed demeanor during peak dining hours.
- Ability to build strong relationships with members, team members, and guests.
- You are highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with a polished and professional presentation.
- Must hold a valid Smart Serve certification or be willing to obtain it.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs, including days, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
