About the Client:
We're seeking a compassionate caregiver to support an elderly woman who is receiving care for the first time. She needs help with day-to-day tasks, personal care, and household activities. She seems lonely and would greatly benefit from companionship and social engagement. Her family is exploring care options and wants to ensure she feels comfortable and supported in her own home.
Responsibilities:
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance throughout the home • Help with bathing and dressing • Prepare nutritious meals • Provide medication reminders to ensure proper adherence • Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection for cognitive support • Perform light housekeeping and laundry • Provide transportation for errands and medical appointments • Engage in meaningful conversation and companionship to reduce loneliness • Respect her independence while ensuring safety
What We're Looking For:
• Experience with personal care, including bathing and dressing assistance • Ability to help with daily activities and household tasks • Calm and patient demeanor, especially when providing cognitive support • Reliable and consistent attendance • Takes initiative when needed without being asked • Makes the client feel comfortable and at ease • Valid driver's license for transportation needs • English speaking • Strong communication skills with both client and family
Schedule:
This position requires a few visits each week, approximately 2-4 days for a few hours at a time. The family is looking for flexibility and consistency to establish a comfortable routine for their mother.
